Why I chose the dog world...

From the time I could talk I loved dogs! When we would go on family vacations, instead of playing on the beach in the sand, I would always go and ask everyone I saw that had a dog if I could pet it. I would ask them what type of dog it was and sometimes correctly identify it. That was around age 4 or 5.
When I was about 8 I was asked if I truely did want to pick showing and training dogs as a career path. I replied of course, that had always been my dream.
At age 9 I became the first junior member of the Atlanta Obedience Club. They wern't sure what to think at first but, they all quickly got used to the idea of a junior in their midst. I have been training there for 7 years now.

My biography...

I began dog training in Rally Obedience. I trained a Border Terrier through all of the levels. I then began formal Obedience training with my Australian Shepherd.
After earning multiple Rally Obedience titles and several Obedience titles in various venues, I was asked by my local obedince club if I would be interested in teaching. I thought that it would be a wonderful opertunity and agreed. I have been teaching for about 2 years now and I love it! I co-teach their basic obedience class and also call patterns at Show-N-Go's.

My dogography...

The first title I earned was a Rally Novice title on my Border Terrier, Benny. He progressed quickly and within the same year he earned his Rally Advanced title and 2 legs on his Rally Excellent.
Then I discovered Rocket. He was a diamond in the rough. He is a pure bred Australian Shepherd. He had been a yard dog for the first three years of his life and his owner wanted something better for him so he was posted on a dog training list that I was a member of. I had been wanting a herding dog ever since I had seen one work. They are truely magnificent! I took my mom over to the womans house and we both fell in love!
I began training him immediately. He quickly earned his RN (Rally Novice), RA (Advanced), and RE (Excellent). We then began work on his CD which he also earned within a year of the time I started training for it. He is now working toward his CDX, RAE, NA, NTD, and TD.

One day Rocket hopes to be my first OTCH dog. We can do it, buddy! I beleive in you!
